A bunch of alpacas, all but one thin necks and little bodies other than one brown alpaca in the front, being fluffy and puffy
The month is almost over and has been rather eventful. From rain to sunshine to torrential rain again and alpaca shearing in between.
Within days, the hot summer weather had moved on and made space for moderate temperatures with rain and fog.

The warm and humid weather produced lovely field mushrooms to be harvested. Earlier we harvested basil, limes and potatoes.
Two grey ducls and a brick pathway in the wet with wet grass behind them.
It’s been rather wet, foggy and cold in the last couple of days. The cats spent more time inside and expressing a form of cabin fever when awake but they are mostly asleep. While we had no guests, have not been out to see any people and had no coffee other than the home made one due to COVID-19 lockdown level 4 and 3, we fixed a few things around the farm, moved animals around the paddocks and got more feed in.
Did a stroll down to the alpacas with Jolan, our daughter. The halter we brought did not fit any of the boys or girls so we just fed them and progressed towards building a little bivy out of old branches and tree bark.

Spring has just sprung and it’s getting time for tidy ups – spring time cleaning but outside.

We made use of the long weekend – yes, it’s Auckland Anniversary weekend – and did some farm maintenance.
