What can I say, the cats are special here. They are probably special everywhere, but I feel that we have an interesting mix of personalities. Especially Moonshine, he’s always good for entertainment.
Last night we said goodbye to our much-loved cat Ziggy Stardust. She fell aslep amidst her cat and human family, not to wake up anymore.
February was thought to finally bring summer. What it brought instead was more rain – and storm.
Apart from the usual winter farm activities, there has not been much exciting stuff happening. It’s been a typical winter with lots of rain, lots of mud but rather warm in comparison. It looks like nature has decided that it is spring.
Lots and not so much happened. New ducklings, alpaca maintenance, Christmas, holidays and lots of animal fun.
The little ducklings have grown over the last couple of days and become so docile, or should I rather say they’ve sussed out where the food comes from….
It’s been a few rather wet days. Some with intermittent sunshine but not enough to dry up the ground yet. The cats use the sunny breaks to go outside but other than that they seem to be in hibernation.
It’s been rather wet, foggy and cold in the last couple of days. The cats spent more time inside and expressing a form of cabin fever when awake but they are mostly asleep.The horses are asking for more food, the chickens are hiding in their house and the ducks – well, the ducks are in their element.
The first days of summer greeted with a mixed bag of weather. The first day was coldish and still wet with quite some wind. But that all eased down on the second day which turned into a nice, dry and hot summer day featuring blue sky and green grass.
When we put those planters up, we had best intentions. So had the Ziggy the cat. But her intentions were quite obviously different to ours. Growing cats? Well, it’s worth a try.
What a joy and surprise that was when a few days ago Erwien showed up with a boyfriends and a whole bunch of fluffy ducklings.
The storm that was supposed to come was not too bad after all. A bit of rain that we loved very much and quite some wind with a bit of thunder and lightning. All that would have been easy to take, if it wasn’t for: Moonshine.
