Tonight’s sunset (with some of Jolans soap bubbles floating around)
the amount of rain we had over the last few days is extraordinary – at least on a subjective level. The occasional hours of sunshine in between evaporate the water quickly, hence yesterday we had 30 deg C. with 80% relative humidity.
Just a short post – wanting to share the amazing light in the valley tonight.
Yesterday was such a hot day that the ducks did not come out from their shady space underneath their house.
Such a lovely day today, the cows have been laying in the paddocks sucking up the sunshine, the horses looked happier today even though there is still no grass to eat around and the alpaca boy were having play fight after inspecting us closely.
After the rainy weekend we got busy outside again. Saturday we weeded the paddock and sowed new grass plus added fertiliser. Sunday we got the concrete mixer out and got builders mix and cement from Waimauku Landscape supplies to pour concrete into the animal shelter.
As summer really turned into summer, we decided that it was time for another paddock pick-nick. So we grabbed the pizza, the wine and the kids and went down to the pond in the valley. Not long until we had nosy visitors that were very interested in the pizza.
Just wanting to share an image from the end of a lovely and productive weekend. Shady’s seem to have caught fire.
Spring is back again and so is the beautiful weather and sunshine.
Spring has sprung but it would appear that it has temporarily left us.
Our new calfies have arrived last Sunday. So cute they are. They have not picked the best weather – it has been raining for a few days and all is soaking wet. I remember last year was beautiful and they were enjoying fresh spring grass. They also arrived earlier. Looks like all is later this year.
This is the view from the guest lounge tonight. I had to share this. What a beautiful spring day we had today. Picked up old posts that we will turn into garden planter walls and landscape features then moved the alpacas around the paddocks and had a lovely afternoon tea on the deck in between. I so love spring.
