The storm that was supposed to come was not too bad after all. A bit of rain that we loved very much and quite some wind with a bit of thunder and lightning. All that would have been easy to take, if it wasn’t for: Moonshine.
Waiting for the storm to come. Some rain would be really good, hope it won’t be too windy.
Who likes the weather when it’s raining and storming outside? No one – well, maybe the odd people that are happy that their grass is growing, like us humans inside. Oh, and the ducks! The ducks love it.
Time to head into the valley and do some paddock maintenance. Checking fences and gates, continued to dig a drainage trench, checked up on the alpacas and moos, mowed some swamp grass and sprayed some other areas of swap grass. Chopped some firewood, loaded up the trainer and brought it back up to the house to keep us warm over the next couple of days.
First day in a long time without rainy weather, so we went down into the valley for fixing things, moving things and play things.

Here’s the rain that is supposedly to end the drought.
Another summer has gone by and autumn came, dry and cold.
While we had no guests, have not been out to see any people and had no coffee other than the home made one due to COVID-19 lockdown level 4 and 3, we fixed a few things around the farm, moved animals around the paddocks and got more feed in.
Over the last weekend we had a delivery of Macrocarpa firewood and also got a lot of old pine out of our forest, all piled up ready to be split.
The last few months were pretty dry with no rainfall other than a few drops that pretty much instantly evaporated upon hitting the ground. I think the last rain was some time before Christmas last year which would make it three months with no rain at all.
