A walk on our local backyard beach, Muriwai Beach. Home to a gannet colony and lovely black sand with beautiful sunsets across the ocean.

Nothing much really has happened over the last few weeks and hence our updates have been rather sparse. One thing did happen however: Think it really turned spring.

First day in a long time without rainy weather, so we went down into the valley for fixing things, moving things and play things.

The first flood this winter has arrived. Usually, we have 2 or more of those events, but this year is the first time we have been having some fun in it. After all, why not?

It’s been a long time without any rain and pretty dry. Not sure how much this will be but anything is better than nothing.

Drove down into the valley today to check up on the alpacas and the cheeky moo.

A weekend of alpaca shearing, vet attendance, fixing fences and water troughs.

Not that we lost winter in a hole, but the valley got so soggy over the years that we used the still good autumn weather to dig drainage in preparation for the wet winter time.
