Alpaca maintenance was on the cards this week – One of our winter tasks… ‘Pedicure’ for each animal, vitamin injection and drenching.

Not that we lost winter in a hole, but the valley got so soggy over the years that we used the still good autumn weather to dig drainage in preparation for the wet winter time.

Today Shady and his rider Jolan had a first time participation at ribbon day.

I would hope that our horses think that the feeders are very nice people, because we got them an extra special Christmas present just in time for the Waimauku Pony Club Christmas celebrations. And so Shady already had his first ride in the new horse…

While I had some doubts that Jolan would really be looking after the little ducks, I have to say that she really lives up to it.
