Tidy up time

Spring has just sprung and it’s getting time for tidy ups – spring time cleaning but outside.

Jolan is helping with chopping that big branch of a tree that fell down over a year ago – all nice and dry now for the wood burner.

The final cut

Last year we started electrifying pretty much all paddocks, so now we have to dig in the cables to bridge the gates. A good job while the ground is still soft and getting pretty much impossible once the lovely clay ground dries up.

In autumn we dug out the drainage trenches and parts of the pond, now is a good time to dig that final meter of trench next to the bridge that we could not access any more with the digger and that was too soggy around for foot access. Now that the drainage worked, the final cut can be made.
