It’s that time of the year again where the cats and dogs in the neighbourhood start bringing in little chicks and ducklings. While a few of last year’s rescue ducks have returned sporadically throughout the year, they now seem to be returning in larger numbers…
Who likes the weather when it’s raining and storming outside? No one – well, maybe the odd people that are happy that their grass is growing, like us humans inside. Oh, and the ducks! The ducks love it.

Mr bunny was terribly sorry this year, he had an accident and lost all of his eggs on the way through a hole in his bag. So all the lovely easter eggs are now spread across most of the farm, ~10 acres.
Found some Rosellas and Mr Naughty was over at the neighbour’s and was thinking what to do with the pheasants but decided quickly to let them be and carry on.
Funny to see the cat getting quite intimidated by the arrival of the ducks behind her and starting to freak and run away when one of the ducks started picking the cat’s tail.
Today was a sad day at Pukeatua Farmstay. We had to say goodbye to Peekie, our female Buff Orpington Duck. She was all well last night and this morning we found her in a corner of the duck run. She must have died overnight.
