the amount of rain we had over the last few days is extraordinary – at least on a subjective level. The occasional hours of sunshine in between evaporate the water quickly, hence yesterday we had 30 deg C. with 80% relative humidity.

The munchers are happy again after I moved them over into the other paddock – the one with more grass. Seemed to be appropriate for them for Christmas.

This year, the nice, hot weather started already mid November and by now, we had no rain for 5 weeks and all local water carriers are booked out until end of January. Finally we had some rain and that filled the tank almost up again…

Tatjana took a lovely picture this morning and it’s too cool not to share it. Makes you appreciate nature and our lovely spot again. And another example that mornings can be very special and energizing, even though Tatjana would not agree on that one.

After the rainy weekend we got busy outside again. Saturday we weeded the paddock and sowed new grass plus added fertiliser. Sunday we got the concrete mixer out and got builders mix and cement from Waimauku Landscape supplies to pour concrete into the animal shelter.

After almost months of no rain and hardly any grass growth, we finally have some rain. Some. I guess it may be classified as another 1:50 years storm of which we should be prepared to have more, more

Our new calfies have arrived last Sunday. So cute they are. They have not picked the best weather – it has been raining for a few days and all is soaking wet. I remember last year was beautiful and they were enjoying fresh spring grass.…

Gave the grubby pony a good groom after all the rain. He thoroughly enjoyed it and appears to indicate Summer’s here 😉 Shady was also really interested in the camera…
