Our 2023 Newcomer calves

When our son did a placement on a nearby dairy farm during calving season, they forgot to book a calf for the bobby truck. That was the beginning of Caramel's story.

“Caramel” enjoyed lots of hugs and cuddles but eventually was booked for the next truck.

After being bombarded with cute photographs we gave in and opted to give Caramel a home. But of course you never just get one calf – they need a buddy. So here's the starting point of Caramilk's story.

Caramel has her name due to the fact that she's a jersey calf – brown. “Caramilk” is a cross breed and is brown with white patches. The naming was obvious.

So the two made their way home and will need twice daily milk for a few weeks.
