Drylands – no rain in sight

We have not seen much rain in more than 2 months now but hot, sunny weather with wind. Both does dry out the land, particularly the hillsides facing the Kaipara where the wind blows from and which the hot afternoon sun hits.

The fence posts are starting to wiggle, the wires are hanging lose and the gates do not shut properly any more. All of this will require some TLC at the end of summer.

The water tank got filled again last week and we have placed another order for in a month to be save – there’s no rain on the radar for the next 10 days.

But we still get some beautiful sunsets.
